Who's going? Please remember to bring your Ordo dues for 2012-2013 ($35).

Sadly, I forgot that I'll be taking a trip to Dallas that weekend, so won't be able to make the tourney.

I can't fight yet, but I'll be available to assist and side judge as needed.

from the Ren Faire FB page:

Quote:
The Tangipahoa River (which is about a half mile from the site) is currently 22.63 ft, which is more than 7ft above flood stage and is expected to go up about a foot more before it crests. The site is pretty much covered with water now but projected to be drained by Tuesday. There is about 3ft of water in front of the ticket booth right now. Everyone is safe, and it looks like the problem with the dam upriver from us is holding. Since everything is built with treated wood we should not have too many issues once the water is gone but we will have a lot of clean up to do. I will let you know more in a few days once the water goes down.

sounds like it could be a mud-rasslin match...

According to WBRZ...

HAMMOND - The Louisiana Renaissance Festival grounds flooded early Friday after the Tangipahoa River topped a levee protecting the festival grounds.

All efforts to protect the grounds failed. The festival was set to open the first Saturday of November.

Dozens of buildings, stages and other structures are under water. The river is expected to crest Saturday.

----------------------------------------

Water has gotten close to our building before. Since it is elevated a couple feet, I'm hoping it's OK.

If anyone gets news about it, please post.

I wasnt able to get on to the site, tho i headed out there. There was a guy keeping watch at the site and keeping people out. But he did let me look at the water level and by the ticket booth was atleast 4foot. There is a post infront of it that it was at the top of. And i was told yhat the water got to almost the tip of the archry range building. At least thats when they saw it. The site is closed to all people until friday. Thereis a high chance we got water in the building. He said there was no body that was un affected.
