Fechtschule America 2012
Fechtschule America is right around the corner, Mar 16-18. We are planning to leave Thursday evening, Mar 15, and will stay Thurs, Fri, and Sat nights.
We are currently at capacity in our primary vehicle, so if anyone else plans to go and hasn't notified me yet, you'll have to work out a ride.

Re: Fechtschule America 2012
So Thursday night Stephen Laygeaux and I set off for Houston and Fechtschule America.
The weekend further reinforced how awesome the event and HEMA practitioners are. There were tons of great classes, ranging from Medieval Wrestling and dagger fighting to sickle to longsword and many things in between. The four tournaments they held were the largest of their kind in modern HEMA history.
At the end of the day Saturday, Jean Chandler and I made it into the semi finals. I managed to win the final and Jean placed third, providing Louisiana with dominance of the tournament, and the first ever American winner of the Fechtschule America longsword event.
There was tons of learning, fighting, socializing, and drinking done. We all returned home last night beaten and bruised and more than happy to have participated.
