Since the August tournament with the SDA guys is quickly approaching, I'd like to do some HEMA type training with the Rawlings swords and fencing masks this month and next month.

If you have a Rawlings sword, a fencing mask, and/or hockey gloves, please bring them to training.

Also, this Sunday is Father's Day. Do we need to reschedule training for June 26th, or is everyone ok with this weekend?

For me, it can be any weekend. My kids are grown and do their own things.

Will the tourney on July 3rd get pushed back due to July 4th weekend?

If you scoot the training day back a week, you may also scoot the July tourney back a week.

Me, I don't care about either of these days. If I don't show up for an Ordo event, it is not because some 'holiday' falls on or near it.

That was an awesome training day. Despite the heat, I think everyone worked hard, and came away with a much better appreciation of the new nylon wasters.

I'm sportin a few nice bruises myself!

It seemed to me that everyone enjoyed the format, and I was really impressed with the overall quality of fighting. We have a ways to go toward getting proficient and efficient, but we should definitely be able to jump into the HEMA scene swinging!

If everyone is down, we'll do this kind of thing again for July training so we can hopefully catch a few of the folks who weren't able to make it this time around. We may also do a tournament to decide rankings since it's looking like we'll have a considerable number more people than the SDA group.

If people are down, I think the July tourny should be set up like the up coming competition to help us prep. As it is technically Ordo summer season it shouldn't be a rule problem.
