 Shinai Site Here is a site with a variety of Shinai. They have a carbon fiber model that I'm sure is great but is very expensive.

I just ordered a pair of 39" shinais and a pair of 34" shinais.
In an effort to 'not get associated' with LARPers, we can try to use these for combat.
I figure that RenFest is a good test to see how they will hold up, since we get a lot of fighting done in a short amount of time.
We can weigh the 'pros' versus 'cons' of using these after we chalk up some fight experience with them.

Re: Shinai Site My guess is they should be ok for longsword but you might have problems with shield rims. Be interesting to see how it works out, keep me posted.
