Just a heads up to you all who are in the southeastern US (or anywhere for that matter). The Frei Fechter Guild of Miami is planning to sponsor a regional southeastern HEMA event during the fall in Tallahassee, FL. This will be a day-and-a-half weekend event. We will have a full line up of classes including Meyer longsword, staff, Meyer rapier, dagger, wrestling and dusack. We have folks capable of leading these classes, but if anyone wants to suggest another subject to add to the course schedule and volunteer to lead it, please contact me or Mike Cartier. We will have plenty of opportunity for sparring and perhaps a prize playing as well. There will be a charge, as yet to be determined, because we plan to rent a training hall, which should accommodate about 30 people. In the spirit of the Alliance, this will be an open event. Doesn't matter who you are, you can come.

No date has been fixed yet, but we expect a weekend in October or November. We'll know more by August, when we anticipate making a formal announcement and having a website up.

So if you are interested in some martial fun and good comradery, keep your calendars open.
