Kata (or forms) work well to impress movements in your mind. There are a few attacks and blocks that I perform that I think either come from a past form, or I just did them so many times, that it is second nature.
For fun, I went and viewed the "Hardest Hits of 2008" right after watching that video. Consider that Ordo guys do some pretty good techniques, but on the fly. Also notice the speed.
