Wow, great photo's. I'd love to have you come down to one of our practices and do some still photo's of our stuff.

I love the armor in these, particularly that fantastic scale panoply and the white padded armor. I have some materials to make some padded armor myself, I wonder if anyone has a pattern I could use?

I does that winged or eared (horned?0) helmet wreak havoc on padded weapons?

Hey DB!
The scale is mine. ;D It's a fun kit to wear and fight in. It could use some tweaking, but I must say it has good all-around protection. It doesn't protect as well as plate for blunt trauma (kicks to the body), but I seem to avoid those most of the time (or weather them without much injury).
The 'ears' on my helmet are made of leather. They are fairly stiff up there, yet will easily yield to a weapon or gauntlet. I did not want these 'ears' to break off, nor did I want them to snag anything. My goal is acieved here.
The white/red padded armour is my creation for my son, VJ. It is a wisby coat of plates design (armourarchive.net). Being a very lightweight guy, I wanted to insure adequate protection against blunt trauma for him (yes, kicks to the body). 1/2" furniture style padding was installed on each side of the metal plates. (inside and outside). The outside shell is covered by canvas (now tearing), and the inside has a lining of soft cloth. This suit will be rebuilt soon using leather for the outside shell.
Since a coat of plates is easy to make. I plan on making one for myself at the same time that I help VJ rebuild his suit. My scales are sweet, but I want a very low maintenance 'mud suit'. (something that I can fight in the rain and slop)

Halberds, since you are signed up, you should be able to create a new thread. Try out a test one.
