Started tinkering around and being creative. This was once a washing machine case...

Image

Still rough from the hammer and needs to be blended a little more together as a unit.

Now, ribbed for her pleasure...

Those screws are temporary. The just hold the 3 plates together, so they can be shaped to fit together. It is not attached to leather, yet. It is simply tied to Manny's neck.

Image

The backplate would fit a little closer to the back, but the screws protrude out a little.

The ribs and the other spinal bones all protrude out of the metal. I painted the crevices flat-black, just because I felt like it. I kinda dig-it.

I guess the Bone-armour project has begun!

hmmm.....+3 on controlling 1D6 skeletons, +3 on controlling 1D4 zombies.

Love it!

The curve of the spine is great. Gives it that old school, hunched, warrior skeleton look.

I added just a wee bit more curve than normal.

1. That is the posture of Manmy.
2. It would be nice that it is designed for forward rolls.

I'm gonna have fun with this project and just see what comes out. Sir Jason will be jealous!

Next the breastplate...

First start off with a Wholefoods bag (or your favorite grocery bag)...

Image

Then grab that washing machine metal (or your favorite stuff) and cut, shape, pound, cut excess, roll edges...etc.

Image

Another couple of hours to get it shaped just right (still needs to be more rounded in the chest).
I'll actually make a roll on the bottom edge (instead of a curved lip), then "skeletize" it!!!

Moohahaha

First step in skeletizing...at first I sketched it out in green, but it didn't look good. So, it was redrawn in black. Not anatomically correct, but good enough for my use!

Image

After 3 hours of tiring beatings it is looking pretty sweet...This REALLY put some strength in the metal! (The picture makes it look crappy, but it looks better in person).

Image

I still need to cleanup the edgings, smooth out areas of abuse, and re-alter the basic shape a bit. And of course, hit it with black paint in the right places.

Forming the skeleton caused the overall shape to shift a little. It still fits nice, but I would like it to be as good as I can make it, and not just a quickly thrown out piece. 2-3 hours more and it should be ready for paint.

To connect the backplate and breastplate, I'll need to make a pair of plates about 4"x5" each. These will fill in the gaps between the backplate and breastplate.
