Demonator, if I were you I'ld completely remake the visor of your helm to allow more space between it and your face and to cover below your chin.

You definately don't want any sharp bits to contact your face when the visor is pushed forward, and ideally it wouldn't touch at all.

sir eric, i been checking out your helmut and it appears that you have a damn good feild of vision in your helmet

Good vision at the cost of MUCH less protection. My ocular is way to big. It just so happens that you have to thrust downward from above to get inside of it.

I would not recommend that anyone else leave that large of an ocular.

If by "mesh" you mean perf plate, then that would do the trick. In fact, now that you mention it, I have a piece of perf that I've been meaning to add to my helm...

thx Sir Eric,after last night figuring,and looking at some helms im going to take your advice and make a beefed up face guard,useing a piece metal i took off an old stove side.i will update soon.
