Post my new weapon set
So I've been super slow as a squire about making my own weapons, but the sword clinic finally inspired me to do it. I've finishing up a set of swords that all have sturdy cross guards. The crossguards are made of 1/8 inch thick by 1/2 inch wide galvanized steel strips. I bend two of them into "T" shapes then tape the "top" of the "T shapes" onto my rattan where the cross guard should go. I try to round off the end of the cross guard and pad the whole thing thoroughly. On top of all that I cover it with some auto or vinyl hose. These things should be pretty darn safe. I'll try to get some pictures up this weekend.

Now I won't have to constantly jack all the knight's weapons (particularly you Sir Jason...I appreciate all the times you let me use your stuff! You can borrow mine now if you want :P!).

*edit*
there's also a short sword that's basically done, but I'm not happy with it. I may have to kinda restart on it.
I'll get around to spears and such soon too.

I put Sir VJ's sword behind them to give you guys something familiar to measure the size of these things by.

That's about 20 pounds of junk hanging from that cross guard right there. I probably could of gone higher but I ran out of heavy stuff with handles at my house

They look great! I know you put a lot of work into them :)

So the small one is your longsword and the big one a Zweihänder just for fun, eh?

Yes, the small one got more work and love poured into it. I figure there are two possibilities with the big one. It'll either make a cool addition to the "weapons that look awesome and entertain crowds but fight horrible" pile (scythe, flail, etc)...or it'll actually be effective and that'll be nice haha.

I've got a new 2-hander too, based on the same new crossguard. Came out very nice!

I'll bring it for the September tourney. (I'll miss the Aug. tourney.)

just finished the spear and the short sword. Figured I would put them up too. The pic is blurry, but it's not like there's a whole ton of stuff to see anyway.

You have a nice weapons set that every one of us should have, especially the Knights!!

Armed like a Knight, fights like a Knight, Armoured like a Knight....hmmm must be close to being a Knight.
