Been working on a new set of arms (right one mostly) and have taken a few pics.

First the old one. Notice the professional quality roll job and state of the art hinges::):

And what I have of the new one:

I know these are crappy pics, but I can assure you that the craftsmanship is 100 times better on the new arm. The lames in the elbow articulate beautifully with little to no gap and the cop is much more carefully dished. I prolly spent as much time dishing the cop for the new arm as I did shaping and assembling the entire old arm. The metal for the upper and lower vambrace and upper cannon is half as thick as that of the cop and lames, providing a significant decrease in weight. I'm also dishing the upper and lower vambrace to make for a better fit.

The good ole leather hinge will be replaced by a piano hinge and I'll put some catch pins on the inside of the vambrace in addition to having the buckling strap. All in all a far superior version of what I currently have :)

I'm going to finish the metal with an orangy rust patina by dipping it into salt water repeatedly for a couple of days and then finish up with a wax sealant. I'm considering using brass rivets instead of plain steel ones. Do you guys think that would look too tacky?

Ok, I bought some brass bolts to see what brass might look like before I ordered the rivets:

So let me know what you guys think.

hmmm...I kinda like the steel rivets. It seems to match the whole piece. However, that is just me. Do whatever you think will look best.

By the way, you are doing a fantastic job on your armour!! A++

(Oh, I have your gauntlet in the car for you. We just need to arrange a pickup.)

So I finished shaping all of the pieces for the right arm:

The brass rivets have been shipped and I need to order some brass buckles to finish it off.
